Traumatic white cataract, hypotony and zonular dehiscence
In this case, we present a traumatic white cataract secondary to closed ocular trauma. Notably, there was immediate hypotony after the first puncture on the anterior capsule. It's likely that there was an excess of trapped fluid in the bag, and its decompression may have led to decompensation with choroidal detachment and hypotony. In such cases, it's crucial to always consider the possibility of zonular instability and potential loss of integrity of the posterior capsule. How do you manage these cases? Have you encountered hypotony at the beginning of cataract surgery? Like, subscribe, and share.
